The First Time in Taiwan - Carbon Neutral Industry-University Cooperation Signing Ceremony - Siward Crystal x Feng Chia University Carbon Neutral R&D and Service Center

Stepping into the sustainable and low-carbon era, all walks of life across the country are taking up the challenge. However, before realizing the low-carbon transition and even the goal of carbon neutrality, the first important step for enterprises is to carry out "organizational greenhouse gas inventory". As a key enterprise in Taiwan's crystal technology industry - Siward Crystal Technology Co., Ltd., yesterday (August 25) through the Nature Trading Platform Co., Ltd., joined hands with Feng Chia University Carbon Neutral R&D and Service Center to officially launch the ISO 14064-1: 2018 Organizational Greenhouse Gas Inventory Cooperation Signing Ceremony. This cooperation integrates the theoretical knowledge of academia with the in-depth technology of the industry, and jointly promotes Siward crystal to the road of carbon neutrality.

This industry-university cooperation signing ceremony was held at the i-hub of Feng Chia University's Smart Innovation Port. It was signed by J.M. Tseng, general manager of Siward Crystal and He Zhuliang, an industry senior of Feng Chia University's Industry-University Operation and Promotion Office. In addition, in addition to the main signing parties, many special guests from industry, government and academia were also invited to the ceremony, including: Wei Guoyan, former director of the Environmental Protection Agency, Lin Qunmao, chairman of Nature Trading Platform Co., Ltd., Feng Chia University Carbon Center Together with Director Lu Huangzhi of the R&D and Service Center, Li Zongru, Deputy Director of the Financial Technology Research Center of Feng Chia University and other guests, they witnessed the establishment of a cross-industry and academic-research institution partnership between Siward Crystal and Feng Chia University. In order to respond to the concept of net zero emissions, after the signing ceremony, the nature trading platform also specially prepared the blue carbon carbon offset project from the Singapore Carbon Exchange (CIX), and at the same time provided for Siward Crystal, Fengjia University, and the nature trading platform A total of three tons of carbon rights were exchanged, which became the first carbon neutral signing ceremony in Taiwan.

The exchange project this time is the VCS-certified mangrove conservation project in Pakistan, which is currently the largest blue carbon project in the world. After the formal launch of the signing content, the focus of cooperation will be on Siward Crystal's organization of greenhouse gas inventory inspection practices and the research and development of energy-saving and carbon-reducing related technologies. Looking forward to the future, we expect to achieve results in the process of taking into account both business activities and the natural environment. On the one hand, we will bring sustainable growth to our cooperative enterprises, and at the same time gradually achieve the goal of carbon neutrality, so as to achieve the coexistence and common prosperity of human beings and the environment.
After the formal launch of this contract, the cooperation will focus on Siward Crystal's greenhouse gas inventory practices and the research and development of energy-saving and carbon-reduction related technologies. Looking forward to the future, we hope to achieve results in the process of taking into account business activities and the natural environment. On the one hand, we will bring sustainable growth in operating performance to our cooperative enterprises, while gradually achieving the goal of carbon neutrality, so as to achieve the coexistence and co-prosperity of humans and the environment.
